Gun Show Purchased Redding PPC Dies

I purchased two dies at a gun show last week. I got them just because they were labeled for 6mm ppc and they were cheap. Paid $10 for the pair and they are in mint condition in original boxes.

First die is a Redding:
#91211
F.L. DIE COMPLETE
6MM P.P.C. SBR

Now I can figure out that it is a full length but what about the SBR? What makes this FL die different than other FL dies or better yet, just what and how much of what is it going to do to my ppc brass?

Next die is a Redding:
#75319
BODY DIE
6MM P.P.C. USA

Again, I can figure out that it is a body die but don't know how much or how far it goes at resizing the brass.

FYI, I am shooting Lapua 220 Russian reformed into .262 thight necked 6ppc. I use a wilson neck die but have never had the need as of yet to "resize" the brass as it chambers just fine. But if and/or when I do come to that need, will these dies fill that need without going overboard?

Any info/advice appreciated....

The body die will size back to 6PPC USA Sammi dimensions and the SBR will size down to slightly smaller dimensions. You must use a Redding shellholder with these dies, not RCBS or other brands. Using other brand shell holders may or may not achieve the dimensions these dies are set up for. Use a Redding competition shell holder set to adjust shoulder bump with these dies and always set the press ram to meet the shell holder firmly. Neck diameter will have to be addressed individually as these dies will size the neck to Sammi dimension only.

Resell the dies you just bought. They'll cause more headaches than a live in mother-in-law.

For your .262" necked 6PPC You only need ONE sizing die. A Full Length bushing die that you should use EACH time you resize. Redding has the Type S F/L Bushing Die, Harrell's has a F/L Bushing Die too: http://harrellsprec.com/index.php/products/full-length-die

I highly recommend the Harrell's and an assortment of bushing [.001", .002", .003", 004"] under your loaded rounds Outside Diameter of .260" [preferred by most with the .262" neck]. If using VihtaVuori N133, a .257" bushing is recommended since N133 likes a lot of neck tension.

You'll only need one seating die. Preferably the Wilson with micrometer top.

If you're going to shoot the 6PPC do it right with the right equipment.

And, you'll only need TWO dies to do it.

A F/L Bushing Die for sizing the whole case and adjusting neck tension for fine tuning your load with bushings, and a bullet seater.

FULL LENGTH size EACH time you resize. :)

Thanks everyone for the needed information. Like I said, I only paid $10 for the pair so no big loss by not using these. I am already using the Wilson Seater and Neck Die. I had been thinking of getting a Harrell FL Die but with suggestions to do so in this conversation, I think I will call Harrell first of week and set that purchase in motion.
