Gun project advice

Hello. I'm in the process of building three rifles I intend to PD hunt with since my boys are getting close to being able to go hunting with me.
I've researched prior posts and have decided for the most part to go with a 6mm BR norma chambering. I have also decided to make my own stocks using the barrel block system. I plan on utilizing some of the more creative designs I've seen on the Gun of the Week articles with my own twists.
I am a moldmaker, so I'm pretty well versed with machining. What I need help with is the action and the barrel.
From some of the posts I've decided against going with a Rem action and going with a Stevens or a Savage action to avoid all the work involved in truing the action. I could do the work myself, so it is only time involved. In one of the Gun of the Week articles someone had used a Stevens action on his barrel block system with good results. I was going to go with a Savage Target action, but costs may prevent me for now. Although, I may still go with the Target action to gain strength without the magazine cutout. It may also be nice to have a repeater. Any suggestions on a magazine that would work with this chambering. Two in the magazine and one in the chamber would be enough.
The other was the barrel. I want to build these rifles myself, but now I think I may have to go with a long chambered barrel, set headspace myself and leave it at that. I have done a lot of research and I am pretty confident I could finish a barrel blank including chambering. Time may be a factor. This is another reason why I am thinking Stevens or Savage for the ease of setting headspace.
I also want to maintain a .5MOA or less also.
Sorry for the long post. Trying to get all the info in in one shot.,one shot, unintended pun)
Thoughts?

i would say that a savage build as your first would be an excellent idea. so mush so, that that is what i am doing right now!!!

i to also looked at the target action, but dont like that they only come in short and medium length. i am using a 110 pre-accutrigger action for my build, and am trying to build a switchbarrel rifle. i have herd a lot of good things with the savage/stevens action. so good so that mny say that 1/2 MOA is possible with a good stock, good barrel, good ammo, and a decent shooter.

as to the stcok, i found these:

http://www.stockadegunstocks.com

they have a full aluminium skeleton bedding block in the stock. and you can get them in moneysaver form as to where all that is let is the final sanding, filling and painting of the stcok. lets you customize and save money at the same time.

these are just a couple things i am doing, and hop[e that something in this post will help ya out. there are lots of good guys here that are always willing to help. i know becaue they all put up with my tons of qustions, and gave me excellent advice.

hope this help, brian
