I cut the inner layer of foam to the stock's profile after tracing it with a silver marker and then cut it with an electric carving knife that we usually bring out for carving up a turkey. One of the ladies in a fabric store told be that was the way they cut thick foam for customers. It worked great.

I positioned the rifle diagonally so I wouldn't have to go to a 50" case. This one is 44", and fits perfectly in my car's trunk. The 50" will probably hold two positioned in the normal configuration.

I bought mine in Cabela's for $175. They retail for $276. This is one you could ship to Africa. I didn't like the Pelican. Didn't seem as well built as the Boyt. I viewed them, tossed and turned them, next to each other, in Cabela's. Hope this helps.
