Grouping question

Working new load and a great load with 52g SMK's. But I need some hep . I have shot 12 different loads, with 55 grain Nosler BT' s, with 5 powders. Almost all the same, 2 touching and 1 out, but vertical, all right at .500 ctc. The Sierras are shooting small clusters( smallest .118) I am happy with that and have another at.200 to develop further, but would like to understand what's up with the Noslers. All bullets are coated with Boron Nitride , shooting same load as Seirras( Over max in reloading book, but NO signs of pressure. Stiller action Krieger 28" 1-12.

You used 5 powders with the noslers and no dice? What powders and where are you seating them?

I used Ww760( shot a ragged hole with 52smk's) H414 ( shot .200 with SMK's) IMR4064,VHT 540,RE17,& Varget. All rounds were touching. Sierras all shot .500 or better. Brass was seperated , neck turned to .0125, primer pockets uniformed , flash holes uniformed and chamfered. Sized with a .245 bushing then ran over a .247 expander for .002 neck tension. All bullets were BN coated and Sierras sorted and tipped.All charges were within .02 thrown with my Prometheus. Just weird all Nosers had 2 touching and 1 out and vertical. Thanks JVON

Some barrels just don't like certain bullets. It might be just that simple.

You saying you tested twelve unique loads but in doing so you tried five different flavors of powder between the twelve, so gotta assume that was only one or a couple or three at most different charge weights of any one of those powders? If that be the case then something that could shoot really well might still be there waiting on you to try something nearer to the charge weight your combination needs to show you its good stuff.

Actually 6 loads 2 diff bullets each load.

I am going to assume that you tried a different seating depth on the Noslers to bring that group in? If not you might want to try seating the bullet deeper into the case for a little jump.
