Groundhog Sniping just around the corner!

Drove by a small field today that I shot 6 years ago. I saw 7 in about ten acres. Snow still on the hillside, but chucks out in the brown mud/grass. I plan to swat them on Saturday. Time to christen the K-Hornet.

Jeez, you guys are really getting my trigger finger itchy. We made it it Claremore, Oklahoma today - about halfway to our Ohio destination.

Seven rounds fired in anger, 5 down!!! Christened the K-Hornet with two 125 yard head shots, and got the rest (including 2 misses) with the 40x 22-250. (300 yards, no excuse!)

woohoo!!

But wow, I am out of shape from 2 years of back injury and surgery recovery. I actually became winded from setting up and taking down the bench, walking to the short range (125 yard) K-Hornet targets. But, LIFE IS GOOD!

Nice work snert! Use the injuries for an excuse while you can! Of course if we made every shot the excitement would be lost.

Went on whistle pig patrol yesterday afternoon with a good friend of mine, he's hard on the pigs too, and we were cruising our usual honey holes for pigs. While cruising along Jeremy said there's one and I whipped the truck around and went back to see what we had? Sure as I'm telling you there was a pig so I set up the trusty .243 Win, ranged it, made the elevation corrections in the scope, and dispatched the pig ! Felt good and that was the first one of the year, a decent sized male! It wasn't a super long shot, about 150 yds. is all but, it felt good to squeeze the trigger!

Took two more tonight! One with the 22 WMR and one with the 243 Win. The one with my 243 Win I set a new personal best for distance at 354 yds! It was a blast!
