Coyotes have wiped them out here. They are so rare I do not shoot them. You only find one around a barn or old house that is too close to humans for coyotes.
Living in a residential area of Western Kentucky, I've seen a few in the neighborhood. I enjoy seeing them but they are not causing me any issues. One had a den under a shed of the neighbor behind me. It may have relocated to an area across the street but the property owner had an area of the lot leveled to build a garage and I haven't seen any since. Watching the wildlife around the house has been more enjoyable than getting rid of them or the other critters.
I did this one yesterday. 6mmAI Encore handgun, 70 gr. BT. 28 mph wind, 36 mph gusts. 218 yds. Hels a ways in front of his head. Made a lung shot. Not pretty. I've done over 750 groundhogs with this handgun out to 410 yds. Did 2 deer at 396, 402 getting ready for a javelina hunt. Did the javelina at just 190 yds., a gimme. Sorry, pic won't post. Had a 3" exit with most of intestines out. It was a male.
