Grizzly lathe spindle question

Grimstod

Machinist, Designer, and Shooter.
What is your spindle length, from chuck mounting face to end of spindle on your Grizzly G4003 or G4002 lathe?

I have a Precision Matthews lathe with very similar specks and since they are made in the same factory I would like to get a collet closer for it.

I think if I make a bushing i can make the main tube longer to accommodate my own lathe.

Ah I see , just go to the Napa store and ask for a negative space adapter !
Just kidding but I get them looking , just the new guys .

I bought a collet closer chuck , it's accurate but does take a few seconds more to use . Not to bad when retired . I purchased the chuck about a month before I saw the grizzly set up .

I have used one of these on a Harding and also a Graziano lathe and they make multi piece work fly. Really wanting it on my own lathe now. I am going to call their Tech department right after work. I have laready talked to sales but they could not give me an answer on modifying it. The tech department should know. I will let you know how it goes. these lever operated collet closers are ten times faster to operate then a chuck and key type.
