Green Mountain barrels

Cant speak for blank but i have a green mountain .22rf barrel on a 10-22... havent tried upper end rounds, but i think its whichesters it liked best out of the bulk rounds.. shoots ok, better than a factory barrel, but not super amazing or anything. About 25 cent groups (a quarter size) at 50 yards is best ive seen so far.

For what its worth, If that helps any...

I've used three for AR projects. They are all 3/4 MOA shooters, which about as good as I can do with an AR and the M3s I use on them.

I have GM barrels on my 3 Browning BPCR rifles and have no complaints. Although used mostly for silhouette the 45-90
was used at Camp Butner NC in competition out to 1000yds. I placed 2nd at 900yds. In 2007 I was high Senior at The state BPCR match at Mexia, TX using the 45-90. I have no experience with GM barrels in high power or rim fire guns.

I have used them on a 10/22 with great results. Shooting Center X the only aftermarket part is the GM barrel and a stock that I bedded and it holds sub MOA at 50 yards very consistently with no wild flyers.

You get what you pay for with them. They're pull buttoned, no lapping, some of the bores can be a bit rough, dimensionally the bores can be a little oversized compared to premium barrels, but what do you expect for $100 or so?

I did a dedicated .22 upper space gun with a cmmg bolt kit using one of the stainless barrel blanks that I chambered at 26" with a .22 bentz reamer from ptg.
It is very ammo picky, but It loves Wolf Match Target of all things, Not so much Eley that I have tried in it. I also had some old federal 711 match that shot pretty good.
At 50yds, It held the x ring on the prone target, at 100, it held the 10 ring. So not as good as an Any, but it is semi auto so I think thats pretty damn good.
On thing I did before chambering was to take my reamer guide bushings and find the "small end" of the barrel, then confirm it with a lead slug. Believe it or not there was a .0004 difference from each end. I put the small end on the muzzle and chambered the big end.

I put one chambered in 6.5-06 Ackley on a Winchester model 70 and it shoots fantastic. The barrel is one of the fastest I have ever seen as I am pushing 3180fps with 140 Bergers and 59 grains of H4831. I can hold half MOA or less out to 1000 yards with it no problem. The last time I shot my steel target at 800 yards I was able to put five shots under 3". Needless to say I have been very happy with it.

Havn't tried their rim fire barrels "yet" but if they're as good as the 4 center fire barrels I've used, I'd be real happy. Two 20s and two 17s.
All clean up as smooth as silk and for the price, you can't beat them. Want to try a different caliber and not want to invest a fortune and play the waiting game? Go Green Mountain. Delivery time is in "days", not months. 8)

I have one on a 10/22 and it shoots fantastic with the right ammo, which at present is CCI Green Tag. I did have to go through "a lot" of different ammo to find this. Not that it shoots anything poorly (except Remington Target, which is anything but), but this is the best one I've tried. I did polish the feed ramp a bit to enhance feeding.

I will give a positive plug for Green Mountain Rimfire barrels. I was rebuilding a Ruger 10-22 with a shot out barrel. I was having a premium barrel maker make me a blank. It was going to take several months so I ordered a $120.00 pre-chambered Green Mountain Barrel. It came and I cleaned it well as it still had bluing salts in the barrel. After installing it, I shot it, cleaned it, for 20 shots. Then shot it for groups, with standard velocity 22 LR I found it to shoot .25 MOA at 50 feet. With High Velocity bullets I found it shot .5 MOA at 50 feet. This was much better than I expected.
