Green mountain Barrels

This is a two part question so please bare with me. I wanted to buy a 19' muzzleweighted barrel made by green mountain and sold by Hi-Desert dog company for a new 10/22 that I am building with a claude gatewood stock. My questions are as follows:

1. Is the particular barrel as described above an accurate barrel?

2. Is Hi-Desert dog company good to do business with? I had never heard of them and accidently found them on the net while surfing.

I buy and use Green Mountain barrels and have never had a bad experience. I feel they are the best buy for the money.

The reason for buying them from Hi-Desert Dog is because their barrels are already threaded for silencers, etc.

I don't know much about silencers except they work good in the movies,G).
1. But do they work on supersonic ammo? Would you not hear the supersonic crack?
2. Would they work on revolvers with the cylinder to barrel gap unless you modified the gap?
3. And more to the point on this thread, would they work on a semi-auto? Wouldn't there be sound escaping from the action as the bolt opens?
Seems only a bolt action or single shot falling block etc. with subsonic ammo would get a real benefit.

Your close but not that close on the silencers
The US government had them om 10/22 barrels they {the barrel,s were for sale in the shotgun News {used}

GerryM, please explain the US Govt use of silenced 10/22's.

Sounds like a very interesting story. My experience with my silencer on a 10/22 is that the actions and magazines get very dirty very fast due to blow back.

My buddy down in Oregon just got his Class-III supressed Ruger 22/45 after several months of paperwork and a long waiting list from the manufacturer. I can tell you from experience with 150rounds of CCI Blazer ammo the action cycling and the bullet hitting a huge maple stump @20yards is the lowdest part of the equation. Shooting CB longs,single round feed, there was zero recoil and only the bullet strike was audible. It makes me want to move down to Oregon just for that reason.
