Green Mountain Barrels acquired by Thompson Center.

Just out on YouTube.
A video of the owner of Thompson Center discussing about their acquisition of Green Mountain Barrels.

I don't know how this is going to influence the barrel blank part of the business.

A shame in a way, good news in another. The bad news; Green Mtn's putput will now be determined by T/C, and availability will now as well. Muzzle loader barrel availability will likely suffer the most. Prices generally increase as the buyer attempts to recoup their investment.
The good news: T/C rifle quality could increase with better barrels.

Wish them well...

havent bought a GM barrel in a long while. it will be interesting to see what TC does with them.

Interesting video, the barrel company was purchased to support the production of TC rifles first and foremost.

Have visited Green Mountain a few times over the years. Hoping they are as friendly as they were before. Whatta Hobby!

Are they known to be a accurate barrel?

They're not competing for the top spot in the BR world but yes they're a good reliable barrel manufacturer. I think that's a great acquisition for them. TC were known to manufacture pretty good barrels themselves before selling to S&W so they're not diving into unknown territory.

Wil they make encore barrels again? I havent seen them for sale.

I've a feeling a decent, unprofiled rifle blank option has just left the market with no viable options remaining.
Now you'll be looking at ~$250 and up everywhere.

Green Mountain barrels are highly regarded for BPCR silhouette & target shooting out to 1000yd. Same with their 22rimfore barrels (though not to 1000yd). Especially their 'X' barrels.
