Got To LOVE a 6BR

I got my 6 BR out of the safe--it has been hiding for over a year since I started the crazy 22 ARA shooting. I had some old brass but I had "learned" on it and so it was sort of done--I pulled out a new box of Lapua brass, ran a .241 mandrel in it--no chamfer, no nothing--loaded it with 450 primer , 30g of varget, dropped in a 107 Sierra --mounted a new scope and headed to the range
10 shots total to zero scope and shoot a nice .460 group real fast ---- 2835 FPS with 16 ES and SD of 5 -- raw fresh brass
It just does not get any easier!

Varget won't shoot in 6bra though... Haha

6br is just a great little round. My load work on mine only took about 25 rounds total. Once I found the load I fired 4, 5 shot groups for an agg of .288. This was with an 87 Vmax , Varget and the CCI-450. Rockchucks were not happy about this!! Fantastic little round.

You’ve got my load… Easy Peasy!
The 6BR is the easiest calibre I have ever loaded to get it right almost from the word GO…
I add another .1 when the weather cools.
Keep at it as the 6BR is capable of shooting a virtual “one hole” at a 100.

My favourite. I was shooting it at 1000yds last weekend. Getting some verticals, but....Dasher on the way for next season.
Maybe a 6GT with the Sierra 110’s…?? Have a fellow club member that I shoot against that has been going very well with his..
Up to 600 with good conditions we run neck and neck beyond or wind/mirage he has the edge and I have seen him turn in a 120.14 {200.14 for the Yanks} at 800yds.
I’ve now run a 280AI beyond the 600 now but in the past, campaigned the 6BR at all distances with reasonable success…

Still have a 22-250 and it's a good one. And the 22-250 AI's are great. But the 6BR is just so easy. Mine's a Hart barreled Sako 579...very accurate and also feeds the 6BR. When a 58 gr bullet will do this, the 22-250 becomes irrelevant. This is a hot load but the Lapua handles it.

I love that little case, 12 twist coyote slaying machine.

I just broke in my 22br and it too is a shooter.
G6BR,
I hunted Coyotes in Alberta several years ago with my favorite 6BR. At that time, I was using H-322 and the 70 GR Nosler BT. It did a great job and dropped them where they stood. What bullet and [powder are you using in the 6BR on Coyotes?

I use a 75g vmax with either H322 or Varget. Both work very well...velocity is around 3160 ish. I can push it a faster but accuracy is there.

Took my 6BR for a spin today.
28.5 N140, CCI 450s
105 Hybrids
seating depth test resulted in bug-holes at 300 yards. 19 thou jump and 22 thou jump were the clear winners. 4 shot groups.
Can cover 8 shots with a dime from back to back seating depths. Gotta love it! Thanks @Jay Christopherson and @Erik Cortina for the barrel and Erik for the reamer. 26” 7.83 twist Brux. 2650 FPS…slow I know but this is predominantly a 300 yard rifle.

Pretty amazing for 300 yds. How can you not love a good 6br rifle.

Yep a great cartridge.

The site exists because of the 6mmBR. I had a Savage in .260 Rem that keep delivering split groups in the 7s and 8s with factory barrel.

I put on a PacNor 3-groove prefit 1:8"-twist 6mmbr barrel. The FIRST measured group out of the gun was four shots in a witnessed 0.168". That was with Varget and Lapua 105s.

That experience (shooting sub-quarter-MOA right out of the gate with a new barrel) inspired me to start 6mmBR.com which later became AccurateShooter.com .

Here are Nine 3-shot targets shot at 100 yards with that 6mmBR Savage:
