Got out to shoot today. 22lr. OK not the most exciting post. but hey.

Rem 504_7_15_2020.jpg Rem 504_7_2020_a.jpg I have been typing about 10X more than shooting. Finished a 2 month project down by the river and rewarded myself with a lil shootin @ end of day. Rem 504T, 6-8 yr old ammo?. East Fork of the Salmon River, ID. funny how the groups moved around, maybe that was me? nice trigger, calm. good glass. no excuses. Range near the cabin. Silencerco 22 Sparrow can. pretty quiet. could drive 4 miles to shoot .223 (considering neighbors), or walk 50 yds w a .22...

Perhaps just a bit of parallax? Every group has at least one shot very close to same on center of bull. (does that come out right) I mean just a bit of parallax on one shot of a group makes it look like entire group moved when actually the center of all groups is close? Don't know if I am explaining my thoughts the way I intend?

OP - nice shooting.
Try a solid front rest rather than the bipod and I will bet the vertical will go away.

Group shift - could also be from the bipod it takes very little change in side tension to induce that much shift when using a bipod.

Target at 25 yds?

Ya know I am just plinking. kinda. Although I would like to see 1 hole groups. This .22 is capable.
The distance ( 30 yds) is based on where the shooting bench ( OK, picnic table ) - to target is - situated.
I could (and will) back out to 50 - 100 yds - but will need to be prone. I have 3 "ranges" around my cabin. This range is enjoyable in summer.
Shooting .22 LR Subsonic w a can sounds same as dropping a slice of bread into the toaster. Enjoying being warm in central ID, mostly. :)

I know what you mean about just enjoying the warmth this time of year.

I have a portable bench on my back deck so I often step out and shoot 25 - 30 rounds just because it is so handy to do, the target from it is only 40 yards. If I want to shoot a 100 yards or further I actually have to walk about 75 ft to my good solid shooting bench.
Its tough living in a place like this isn't it? LOL I feel sorry for people who have to drive miles to ranges and then put up with crowded conditions and rude people.

Looking at the width of the river in your picture you must be quite a ways up East Fork.

Drover, well you are preaching to the choir. :)
I'm not too far up the EF.
Being able to shoot on "my property" was a factor in moving to ID.
I used to drive 125+ mi each way from NY thru NJ to PA to shoot on PA state ranges - they are excellent, btw.
Now - I head up into blm with louder stuff.
My neighbors are not too close, but out of respect, I don't shoot loud stuff here.
Walk 75 feet. Ha!
If there are rude people here - well I have yet to meet one. OK one. But I was a jackass and he called me on it.
