Got my first Pdogs with my new Krieger

This new 28"Krieger 1:8t I got rocks, I got out yesterday for a bit with one of my sons and although there wasn`t a bunch out I still managed to get three at around 600yrds & 1 at 500+yrds. I got a few close range but they`re no fun:D. I can really smoke a 87gr V-max @3125fps! 6BR 30.5 H4895, 450pmr.@2.230 OAL. It shoots sub .5@100yrd. 30grs of varget shot sub.25 but only at 2975fps@2.238oal. It looks like I like the tight chamber reamer I bought...I could only get 3050fps with an 87 v-max 31.8 H4895 with my old 26" douglas @2.325oal.

Patchhound,

Great report! Glad the 87s are working for you. For windy days you might try the Berger 95 VLDs too. With the short bearing surface I found I could run 'em as fast as the 87s from my 1:8" PacNor.

You'll need to sort them though--and try to get the newest lot.

H4895 is a great powder choice for either bullet. And yeah, Kriegers rock. Is your bbl a .236" or a .237"?

I run the 87's right at 3000 out of a 26" 10T Pac-Nor and they are wicked on PD's at long range. I was out Sunday and got several between 500-600. The thing I like is they don't move when you hit and it doesn't matter where you hit em. I shot the V-maxes and some 80gr Fowlers and you sure had to pay more attention to the wind when a Fowler was in the chamber.

The 95gr. Bergers are awesome for accuracy as Moderator said but it just punches holes in the PD's at extended ranges. Keep knocking them down.

The 95 VLD's do a great job on PD's at extended ranges out of my 6-284 Shehane but threr starting out at 3437 FPS

Sorry for the delay, I had to go work in Rock Spings for while and man do they got a lot of P-dogs there! I wish I could take my guns to work:cry: I`ll have to get out there when the weathers better and pop some...

My #17 Kriegers a .236, the thing weights 7lb`s and my total gun wieght is 19.5 w\scope&bipod&sling. It`s not a real pleasure to carry but so what, I dont need a rest or bench:D. A nice plus when you got a town over a hill and a half mile from the truck...

I shoot one with a 105 Amax @500+yrds and I wasnt to impressed with the result. Thats just one though and soon as I got more time I`ll get more with em and post results. So far the 87`s are by far my favorate.
