Got My 10 X 50 X 60 Sightron Yesterday

The first 10 x 50 x 60 Sightron Scopes shipped last Wednesday. There is supposed to be a second shipment in about 3 weeks. This is great news for the up coming Spring season.

This scope like the 8 x 32 is much heavier built than the first Sightron target scopes. Very clear and sharp edge to edge. I will try to mount it on a rifle today and shoot it a little. I will post some pictures and targets to go along. It looks and feels real good so far. I think it will give both Leupold and Night Force a real run for their money.

The Sightron is not a cheap scope and wow the extra magnification.

Nat, I look forward to reading your results using your new scope. I am contemplating the purchase of a new scope in the immediate future for one of my varmint rifles and I believe I would enjoy the extra power. Old eyes need all the help they can get.

I always enjoy reading your posts as they are informative and instructive. The old addage, "you never get too old to learn something new" certainly applies in my case. Keep it up as your time allows. Ron

Nat & gunamoth, from whom did you guys purchase your 10-50x60's ? I was wondering because I have one ordered from Larry and I'm sure I'm very close to the top on his waiting list. I'm almost as anxious as when awaiting delivery of a new rifle.

Regards

Tried the scope on two different sets of rings.

The first set up was Ivey Micrometer Adjustable rings and Ken Farrell 0 minute base. The second setup was Ken Farrell Rings and 20 minute bases.

I shot 20, 5 shot groups with my Savage Target action, PT&G Fluted bolt, stockade, bolt handle, and stockade Bench rest stock. Off a BR Rest and leather rear bag. The scope was cranked up to 50 during my entire afternoon of shooting. The focus ring has a very short window of focus for a given distance. Otherwise clarity and light gathering was superb.

The cartridge was 6mmBRX and 105 Berger with 32.5 Varget. I had one or two groups in the teens, several in the 2s, and a few in the 3s.

The Weather was cold, clear, and breezy.

The distributors should have these scopes or get them by Monday or Tuesday. Your dealer needs to have placed an order because the supplies are limited. I was told by the lady at Sightron that a second shipment is scheduled for delivery with in 3 weeks. That too will be a limited supply.

I have 12 on order, and as of Friday my salesman says he has no product for me. I'll touch base w/him again on monday to see if anything has changed. Larry in western Ky.

With the Ken Farrell 20 MOA base I used a medium height ring It has room to spare between the bell and barrel.

Hello,
I am so glad to read your comment about the new Sightron scope. I think mine is on the way i'm really looking forward to trying it out. But it may not be until late june with all the snow we are getting here in Pa. Do you think there are lends covers for the scope? I cant think a scope like this would not have them. I will try and find out if you could do the same thing maybe we can come up with an answer.

thanks alot
