On one of the farms I squirrel hunt, I had a cat steal a squirrel I had head shot and was flopping around.
The cat came out of a small thicket, snatched the squirrel up and went back into the thicket with his prize.
Now every time I go back there, I take a small bag of dry cat food and spread it out on the ground as a peace offering. I don't know if the cat is getting it or not, but every morsel is always gone when I go back again.
