Got a surprise today.

The mailman left me a new Brownells catalog today. After 3 years, I had given up on getting another issue. It's good reading and a lot easier to locate stuff than on their website. Guess I'm just too old school, but it's like getting the Christmas edition of the Sears&Roebuck catalog, when I was a kid.

The Brownells catalog is awesome. I find products in it I would never have a clue existed if I depended on their website to find. It seems like a no brainer for a company like them with such a huge variety of products.

Some vendor websites are atrocious! Can't search anything. They Send you to one rabbit hole after another rabbit hole. I would think in 2018, these issues would be a thing of the past. Not so.
I would rather make a phone call, rather than have several encyclopedia/catalogs laying around my loading room. I still have varmithunter mags laying around that I need to get rid of! :)

I got one too. I am not going take the shrink wrap off of it. I want to use it as an object lesson for my grandkids when I tell them about walking to school, corded phones, and paper catalogs. I imagine I'll get some eye-rolls when I pull it out.

What, you never had crank phones?? You're just a youngin!!

Maybe partially off topic but I needed an item recently where the only place on earth I could find it in stock was Natchez Shooters Supply. Shipping charge was over $12.00 for a small and lightweight item. When it arrived I discovered why shipping was so high. I had to pay for a very thick catalog and two thinner ones. Although I'm ancient I prefer online searching. Ticked me off to pay for something that I have no intention of ever using.

Are they sending them FREE again or do you have to pay for it?

I get one free every year. I’m sure it’s cause I buy enough. Not sure what that is but it’s not a lot.

Larry S— you’re right about their index. It’s worse then it used to be. I wish they would improve it.

Willie— I to like to get catalogs so I can look through them.

Brownells web site Sucks. They make it much more difficult to find things than is necessary most of the time. Usually I just have to use the search and that doesn’t work a lot of times even though I know they have wat I’m looking for. Brownells seems content to put on constant sales, free shipping etc to generate sales instead of fixing some of these basic things.
I didn’t renew my edge membership because now I just wait for the free shipping that happens every few days. I don’t buy so much there anyway because it’s like pulling teeth ordering from their site. A site like Grafs is much easier to navigate. I’ve always liked brownells and I hope they get it together.

I’d call them on that

I have 6Herters catalogs. The kids don’t have a clue what the “good ol’ days were.

I got mine today Willie. It does make me feel like a kid again, looking through those old Herter’s Catalogs. I remember saving for and buying a wooden handled Bowie knife that had Herter’s name stamped on it.
