Went to the public range today to test my 40X 22-250 and some new loads for my BAT SV 20 VT.
The back story is that the 40X just wasnt doing it anymore and I suspected one of three things...the old Leupold crapped, the Canjar had something to do with it, or the load my cousin dveloped with Varget wasn't doing it. So, being a scientist and dedicated to the scientific method, I CHANGED EM ALL at the same time! I put a Jewell in, put a new Vortex Strike Eagle on it, and went back to a known load of H380 under both 55 gr VAmax and 52 grain Bergers, both .010 off.

I was aiming at a staple and had a few sight adjustments, then got it right, put three more on the staple. I guess it must have been the trigger, or the load, or the scope...
Regardless, a bit of throwing stuff at the wall to see what stuck and shazam, back to happy land.
I was also testing My Bat SV 20 VT in it's new stock with a "target Load". I had been shooting a "gudnuf" load of 2200 under a 34 grain dogtown for PD and it was ok, but I felt the gun had a lot more in it. So I inquired of @HaroldM who has done some BR work and research with the 20 VT. He sent some research results and I ended up testing five loads of LT32 under a 40 grain Berger. The rifle has a Leupold 6-18 on it, so I was a little limited on view. The new stock (a 40X copy) is as slick as graphite snot due to the arrowood 1600 finish, handrubbed and buffed. It slides in the bags better than some of my rifles with stock tape. The VT is able to move it. I had significant wind, twitches, changes and toss in the fact I am NOT a BR shooter experienced in reading the flags, but all five of these lads wanted to shoot...I just couldn't hold for the wind with the limited scope. I am convinced it is a shooter though.

The arrows mark wind direction.
I can see where I couldn't adapt to the wind changes. So these are weather reports more than groups. But I am still pleased.
