Most phrases don't bother me. I get that initial cringe, but if I think they just don't know better I'll let them know the difference between a magazine and a clip (for example), but most of the time I just leave and go find my own space on the range or the shop.

A "gun" in whatever incarnation, is not a weapon unless it is pointed at someone with intent to hit them with a bullet either maliciously or to protect yourself from serious bodily injury or death. Otherwise, its a multifaceted tool for hunting, recreation or competition.

I had a girlfriend years ago with the last name Leupold. She and her entire family pronounced it "Lee-a-pold."

Surprised no one mentioned "heads" yet a.k.a. tips or pills.

They used to answer the phone Lee-a-pold years ago when I would call . They don't anymore
