He means putting the wraps of centering tape at the back as well as the front. I do this right against the action and it doubles as a dam to keep the bedding material out of the stock channel as well as helping balance it while curing

Thanks Dusty, that's pretty much what i imagined. Do you use surgical tubing, tape or anything at all around the action when the bedding is curing? I've always done bedding pretty similar to the Richard Frankin article on the homepage.
