Good Stories in Bulletin Today

There are two substantial stories in the Daily Bulletin today that can benefit our readers. We encourage you folks to take a look (and bookmark the Bulletin for regular reading).

1. Six Tips for Long-Range Shooters from Bryan Litz

If you only know Bryan Litz from his Applied Ballistics Books and DVDs, you may not realize that this guy is also a great marksman, a past Nat'l F-Class Champion, along with being an actual rocket scientist!

Given his impressive track record in both F-Class and Palma (Fullbore) out to 1000 yards, we asked Bryan if he had any advice for other long-range competitors.

First Bryan provided three tips concerning Ballistics, his special area of expertise. Next Bryan offered three more general tips about long-range competition — how to analyze your shooting, how to choose your ‘wind strategy’, and how to avoid the most costly mistakes, i.e. how to avoid the “train-wrecks”.

2. Fitness Programs for Older Shooters by Tom Alves

This article by Tom Alves describes a very practical approach to physical training for those of us who are not as young and spry as we once were. Tom shows us how to give our bodies at least some of the maintenance we give our rifles. While we all realize that our rifles will outlive us, let’s see if we can’t narrow the margin a bit with some personal maintenance that just might help the shooting too! The article covers strength training, flexibility training, and cardio (heart and lung) training. It focuses on low-impact programs that are easy on older limbs and joints.

Forum Boss is 65 now and I've followed some of Tom's advice in this article with good results.
This article originally appeared in the Rifleman’s Journal, and appears with permission of GS Arizona.

Forum Boss: I release three Daily Bulletin articles every day of the year. We produce more articles than two NRA magazines combined. There are over 11,400 articles now.

Very few Bulletin readers use the index, the search function, or scroll past the first page. That's a shame because there is some really great content in our Bulletin archives.

Do you have a half-hour twice a week? We are looking for someone who would regularly go through our Daily Bulletin Archives and highlight top stories for our Forum members.

This is a win-win. Forum members get free, informative content that can help with their reloading and shooting, while we increase the Daily Bulletin readership, which helps AccurateShooter.com in many ways.

Please contact Forum Boss if you would be interested in being a "Bulletin Story Finder". You would then create a Forum thread like this, a couple times a week, with story summaries, links, and photos.
