Good score at the range today

One of the places I shoot at is also where some law enforcement and military train. They were leaving as I was setting up and they left a bunch of nice nickel coated brass behind and I was all too happy to pick up their mess.

I got about 500 pieces, all Speer and all have '22' on the headstamp, I'm guessing that's the year. I have no experience using Speer brass, but it appears to be high quality and after sizing about 25 pieces they are sizing very consistently.

Anyone use Speer brass? I'm curious what your experience is with it.

I have a few hundred that I picked up. They are holding up and shooting well in my bolt gun. I was surprised to find the primers crimped though.

These are all crimped too. But all law enforcement and military brass I've ever had were crimped, so I wasn't surprised.

I pick up the premo brass at my local range and it's almost a treasure these days to find something nice.... I will even pick up brass that my buddies use and tumble it and give it to them.... Nice find... As others have said just keep an eye on the nickel if it starts flaking off I would stop and save my dies... But till then run them...

Good, stout, primer pockets after the crimp is removed. I don't get too much of it since it's usually loaded with premium defense/bonded bullets that most people don't blast away with.
