Good quality precision AR-15 barrels?

I spoke to the boss at Wilson today and I certainly could carry the entire line.

Need a post ban Armalite pressed on muzzle brake removed and threaded but for a little more I can just buy a barrel. I've been watching the current AR barrel threads.

I've never heard grand reviews on Wilson barrels.

Wilson has made all the barrels for Cooper Rifles and the guy that owns Wilson bought Cooper Rifles. They have made barrels for the Military Special Forces for years. They make Great barrels.

Yah, I'm not sure what he's talking about. Not to mention White Oak with about a billion service rifle wins.

Are AR's able to shoot 1/4 more than every so often. Never see any in comp situations? Sounds like a unicorn hunt....

Yeah. Going to be tough to get an ar with any barrel to hold 1/4 MOA.

That said, I know there's at least a couple people who have put together AR's that will shoot in that range.
Our own LVLAaron did one.

That said, I know there's at least a couple people who have put together AR's that will shoot in that range.
Our own LVLAaron did one.

With a good custom barrel and built right they hold 1/4 moa. I have one in a grendel I built. I know its possible with the right custom level barrel.

The issue is most AR barrel makers do not make barrels at a custom bolt gun level. To get a krieger or brux cut rifle AR barrel is next to unobtanium. It turns into a gunsmith venture to have them made. 90% of an AR accuracy is the barrel. The rest is pairing up carrier group, buffer, adjustable gas block, billet upper lower for precision mating, shims in spots to take wiggle out, bedding the barrel extension.. the right parts can be made to shoot. Ive done it and am a firm believer. Im not saying its going to beat out a ppc bolt gun tuned right. Im just saying they can be made to rival or trail right behind a custom bolt gun on an average custom build level. Load development is huge too...

Its one of those things most will argue about until they have the opportunity to shoot a well built AR.

I've kinda verified with this post the only custom level barrel in AR box store your gonna find is a proof research. But those are so expensive..

Its a gunsmith build thing for the good barrel. Well worth it in the end.

I think if F class had a dedicated group to tinker with an AR class most people would be surprised how well an AR class could put up numbers if enough people ran down the rabbit hole. But you dont have people doing it..
