Good bullet for 25-05 with 1/9 twist barrel.

I just got a 1/9 twist benchmark barrel for my son's 25-06 i was looking for a 1/10 twist but got this barrel at a dang good price. Will this barrel shot 100 grn bullets?I am shooting 115 nosler BT. right now i like the the 110 grn accubonds but the barrel that is on the gun now did not like them.Gun is a older tang safety Ruger m77 varmit 25-06.Thanks guys.

You should be alright with 100 gr bullets. I would try the 100 Sierra but if not give the 90 gr Sierra BTHP Gameking a try. Either one with 52 grs IMR 4350 are good deer killers. About all the 87 gr and lighter bullets are varmint bullets and really come apart too quick for use on deer. The 87 gr Sierra red mist groundhogs and scatters pieces. I have a 10" twist Shilen 26" long and use 49 grs IMR 4350, Rem case, CCI 250 mag primer, 117 Sierra Pro Hunter average 3000 fps. It shoots bug holes at 100 and 1 1/2" at 300 regularly. Kills deer like lightening struck them.

That should not be a problem with a 9 twist...
Have you ever tried the Berger 115 VLD in the rifle ??

I own a tang safety 77V, but with the original factory tube. 115VLDs over RE-22 worked for me. Never got around to shooting 100s out of it.

I have only used 100gr NBTs in a 9 twist Douglas chambered in 25-06 AI. They come out of the end just fine at 3460ish fps using RE-22.

Keep us posted on your progress. I've developed a serious affection for the Quarterbore over the last two years.
