Good Book for learning more about reloading.

Hi, I am new here and wanted to learn more about precision reloading. I have ordered a new rifle in 6mm Norma BR and want to do some reloading for it. I have messed around with some reloading in the past. I bought some Lee equipment about 5 years ago and have messed around with some hunting ammo and some revolver stuff. I was wanting to get into some bench rest shooting or maybe F-class and really wanted to get serious about reloading. I have looked and some catalogs and equipment from Sinclair, Brownells, Midway and others. I would really like to do some reading and research before I start getting serious. There is tons of info online but, sometimes it would be nice to have a regular book to reference. Any input you guys have would really be appreciated.

I believe the book you're looking for is Glen Zediker's Handloading for Competition. It's a very thorough accounting of the reloading process and the various parameters to be controlled. Unfortunately, it ain't easy to read at all times, and that's the author's fault. You just have to struggle through it. Available from Sinclair.

I agree with Winchester69 about that book. If you have been reloading for a while you may have seen this already, but for every champion shooter that says one thing there is another champion shooter that is saying the exact opposite. My point is reading and gathering info is a good idea, but just remember the only way to know what will work for you is to try it yourself.

Jim: Ditto for the Glen Zediker book, I refer to it frequently). Another very good one is 'The Benchrest Shooting Primer', published by 'Precision Shooting' magazine. The 'best' of the articles written from 1982 to 1996, so a little dated now, but still worth having. Also available from Sinclair, Midway, & P.S. direct.
