Good Benchrest Shooting Pad?

When I square up directly behind the rifle and shoulder the gun, the butt actually rests between the shoulder pocket and the sternum, sort of under the clavicle. Further left than the actual shoulder pocket. The only shooting shirt pads I’ve found have been too far to the right. Is anyone familiar with a pad or shirt that places the pad more towards the center? Thanks.

As you can't find a shirt that places padding where you want it why not put padding on the buttstock of the rifle?

Check Midway USA. I believe they have a wearable recoil pad that might be adjustable, according to what I remember in its appearance.

I use a caldwell. The one with the extra pad added. I do have to pull it over closer to my shoulder joint.
I shoot Free recoil .

After 2 shoulder surgeries in the last year, 1 being a complete replacement this is what I am using.

I'm in the same boat Roger. Not only does it need to be more toward the inside (left), but extend down my upper arm a-ways.

After trying several commercial ones (PAST, Caldwell), which didn't work well, I'm going to have a local sewing-quilting shop make me a custom one.

The padding (white flexible shipping foam) will be sewed into a mid-length sleeved, shirt. A pullover would work, or a light weight flannel one. I've stuffed some of the foam under my tee shirt, and it works well for dissipating the recoil.

A soft butt pad stops the hard recoil, but the force from it is still all in one place. Padding in a vest or shirt dissipates it over a wider area ... just what's needed for a tender shoulder.
