I've had very good luck on elk using a New Ultra Light Arms chambered in 7x61 Sharpe & Hart Magnum, ballistically about the same as the 7mm Remington Magnum. I've used the 160 Partition and the 150 TTSX BT. These bullets perform equally well, but some rifles shoot a Partition accurately while others don't. Barnes seems to shoot accurately in just about everything. I use H4350 or H4831 because of splendid accuracy, but some of the newer slower powders will give a little more velocity.
