Golden Eagle Loose Eyepiece

Old Navy

Gold $$ Contributor
I was adjusting the eyepiece on my fairly new Golden Eagle at the range today. The tube that houses the eyepiece and focus ring is loose. It will move up and down just a little but the tube will slide forward under spring tension approximately .035" . Is this normal? I have attached a couple photos to show the gap right behind the power ring. Can some one check theirs and tell me if this is normal. Thanks.

My scope came back a couple days ago. Two days to get there , four days in their shop and back to be in two more days. Eight total days is outstanding service. I got out to check it this morning and shot the best 3" square ever. Finished up with a .295" three shot group. A lot of folks here have complained that they got a scope back that was repaired by various venders and never an explanation of what they did. Well Vortex is not one of them. Please see the attached copy of the completed work order. I give them an A+ for this repair. I plan to send them a thank you note.

This is the 3" square I shot off a bi-pod in slight gusting wind @ 100 yards.
