Going to the Range Checklist

Flipped a coin one day; hunt or shoot. Came up shoot, hustled everything into the truck and headed to the pasture.

Well wouldn't ya know it.... buck popped out of the briar patch and we looked at each other as I was working the gun case from the back seat to the front. Got it opened and was pulling the rifle out and looked down.

Yep, them bolts ARE important. Won't ever forget that again. ;D

I leave targets, binos, pasters, thumbtacks, front and rear bags in the truck all the time. All I need to load is rifle, ammo, and target backer.

Been using checklists for years. After showing up at the range a few times missing stuff I started using one. And the list changes thru the years. Thanks for reminding me, have to add range pass as my club now requires one.

Here's mine. Somebody is always mooching off me, for an allen wrench, staple gun, etc... I am sucker, I can't stop myself from showing goodwill to my fellow man.

My check list started when I went to Camp Perry a few years ago for the Nationals. I have three containers, a large tote box that caries the bulk of my range gear and is dedicated to range use only. I have a back pack w/ a Camel Back and my rifle. My shooting partner drives a huge freakin' Dodge truck with a cap and goes right by my place on the way to C-P, so we take his truck.I even made a comment that we are getting better all the time at conserving space while packing. We pull into C-P, start to unload and I ask Dave "did you pack my tote box"? Well, I'm sure you know the rest of the story. No coat, spotting scope, mat, ammo, stool with all the related gear that is always in the stool. I was so pi$$ed I almost withdrew, but my friend talked me in to making the 120+ mile round trip to get it. I got back just in time to go to the line and shoot my relay! ;D I hope someone finds this funny because I sure didn't.
