I have a suede butt bag that I like very much. Problem was it was filled with sand and weighed in at 7 1/2 pounds. Carrying it, along with my 18+ pound rifle, from one firing position to another (I'm a prone shooter) over the 1K yard range took more energy than I wanted to expend.
I had built a denim butt bag filled with poly beads that worked pretty well so I decided to see how those beads would work in my suede bag. Sweeeet .... Should have done that a long time ago.
I spent about six bucks (found them on sale) the bag now weighs just 3 pounds, actually responds to the "squeeze" better than the sand, and I got the chance to teach the ladies at the fabric shop what the term "butt bag" really means.
