GoPro's are designed for action sports and have a very wide angle lens (90-120 degrees). If you're interested in recording the results of your shot they probably aren't appropriate unless you're really, really close to something pretty big.

There are rifle scopes that record HD video. Elcan, Laxco and ATN are those I'm familiar with. Been considering the ATN but not yet convinced it's worth $1k to shoot a video of an exploding groundhog.

When I first started flying drones (small almost disposable ones) attaching a camera was a hot steamin' deal. There is a miniature camera known simply as the 808. There are hundreds of sellers on Ebay and Amazon even carries some. They look like a key fob to open your car door and such. They actually shoot pretty good video and can be had from China for dirt cheap - Like $7.

There's a guy by the name of Chuck Lohr who got fascinated with them and has a website listing the good, bad and such. They weigh about 1/2 an ounce and I put them on drones with two pieces of 3/4" Velcro.

If you like the go pro idea here his a much cheaper version. I have one and switch between my sons 4 wheeler helmet and my turkey gun. Looking into a bow mount also. Very good video, but like stayed previously things will need to be close.

Mobius. Look at their site. They have what they describe as a "zoom hunting/airsoft camera". Includes a picatinny mount. The price direct from Mobius is $150 and up a little.
