Gluing action in fiberglass stock

What adhesive do yall use and should it only be applied around the action screw area?

Jb weld and it needs to be 100%. Relieve the whole area as if you were bedding it just dont use release agent and clean the action good

Got it. Spread it right over the entire bedding, right?

Yes but you need to make room for it- you cant just put it over bedding that already fits the action

When glueing into a stock, how do you control the flow of the JB Weld (or whatever other material) forward of the recoil lug? On every stock I have bedded thus far, I have had a significant amount of material flow forward under the chamber area of the barrel that I then had to remove after removing the barreled action from the newly bedded stock. If you are intending to end up with a completely free floated barrel, how do you ensure that you haven't allowed any bedding material to find its way forward of the recoil lug?

I’ve always used blue painters tape under the chamber
Then just remove the tape after bedding and now you have clearance

And in addition to the tape there is so very little glue required it doesnt run everywhere like bedding does.

Remember you can still take off the barrel.. Plenty wax on the barrel in that area.

I dam that area off with Plasticine modeling clay or Play-Dough which is easier to clean up than the clay.

Put it on hand tight to bed/glue incase you need to remove it

Use a shot-out old barrel if you have one laying around.
