Glue-In BR

So I'm at the juncture at which I must prepare to mate the barreled action to the stock. Just to refresh, and keep me from getting bored while on business here in Ulysses, KS), it's a STiller Cobra Drop Port, Shehane Baby Tracker African Obeche laminate. I am going to make thia a "glue-in". The Cobra action came with the bottom alread machined with tool marks in the flat bottom surface so no "roughing-up" will be necessary. The funnel for the drop port is really cool and will be simple to inlet into the stock with only a small hole on the bottom showing for the spent case to fall through. I can work out the details of ensuring the trigger hanger screws will be accessible after the trigger guard is removed so that trigger removal will be possible. The holes that "would be" used if pillar bedding wre chose are not tapped through, so no solvent, oil, etc from cleaning can seep under the action to place a threat on the integrity of the glue bond. The fit is perfect,it came that way thanks to Bill Shehane). Soooooooooo, I'll soon be ready to start the recipe to bake this cake. My first question is about whether or not to do a semi-thin bedding with Devcon and then use JB Weld to glue it in and make it permanent. What are some thoughts, ideas, and experiences from you guys ??

Thanks as always,

While I am no expert, for my glue-ins I tape the action, masking tape), put release agent on the tape, and pre-bed with Devcon or Steel Bed. I don't want release agent on the action, which is why I use tape, and I want a thin, uniform space, the thickness of the tape) for the final adhesive.

Once the pre-bedding compound has set, I take out the action, remove the tape, and clean the action with Brakleen or similar fast-drying solvent. I rough up the pre-bed with some 60-grit sandpaper and wipe clean with Brakleen. I finish the glue-in with Acraglas or some other thin, free-flowing adhesive. While the adhesive is curing I hold the barreled action in place with surgical tubing wrapped around the action, and I don't support the barrel while the glue is curing -- I want the action in the same position, under the same stress, that it will be in when it is ready to shoot.
