glass bed savage 12 action

Shaun

Not sure of your question but it's fairly simple to do. Lots of info on the web/youtube. Get yourself some Devcon and Kiwi clear shoe polish for a release agent and have at it.

Most folks who bed Savage actions do not bed the rear tang.

Good Shooting.

Hey Shaun, I used Brownell's AcraGlas Gel kit to bed my LRPV in 6mmBR. The bedding block fits very well, so the bedding was thin, but enough to get a uniform surface for the action. I bed the action full length, from the back of the recoil lug to the rear tang.
I also experimented with the screw torque and settled on 30/25/25. Rifle shoots .3MOA out to 500 yards, when the wind lays down.

I love my Savage Target action!

I've bedded dozens of savages I use lock tight and release agent from brownells, I have always wanted to try kiwi shoe polish as someone said don't bed tang area there is no reason as a matter of fact if you can free float it , do that, what type of stock are you wanting to bed?

Kiwi and Devcon are the cats meow! I have used it to bed scope rails, actions, handrail t slots, and make molds, all kinds of stuff and it always releases clean.
