Giraud annealer

was doing a little research on annealing and came across this product by giruad. Just wondering if anybody has used on yet. looks like a neat rig.

just bought one, havent had a chance to use it yet, but some folks have and reported over on the Hide. From what I have seen of it in action via live and video, its going to cause me to sell my benchsource. :-)

Just got mine going today and I annealed a few hundred cases. This device works very well and I am happy with it. It's much faster and easier than the manual method.

It's expensive but it works exactly as advertised and I think I will be doing a lot more annealing from now on.

I don't have a 6br, but from the dimensions of the case (1.55 inch in length), I don't see where there would be any problems using the Giraud with that case.

The torch is installed on a seperate piece and you can adjust it to fit your case. Doug does recommend that you position the torch as close to the front of the machine as possible and then aim the flame away from the face of the device, if possible. He does specifically state that you should not aim the flame AT the face of the annealer. I had no problems positioning the torch so that it has about a 20 degree angle from the faceplate as it heats up the neck of the 2 inch .308 cartridge. There is still room to get the torch closer to the plate and still maintain a decent angle away from the front with a shorter cartridge.

Bottom line, I think it would work fine with the 6br.

I have one, and I use it to anneal 6mmbr cases. I works just fine. You can also call and talk to them about it. He has had made special shorter pieces to be able to anneal more down the shoulder of the short 6br case.
