Getting Started in Benchrest shooting

Would like to get started in bench rest shooting. Like an easy to load caliber: 6BR/6XC no neck turning.100/300 yard shooting $3000 budget w/o scope. Recommendations for a great gunsmith, caliber, action, stock, barrel. Best way to get started?

What type of Benchrest are you wanting to get into? The best thing I can tell you is not to go your own way. Look at what works and go with it. If you want to do long range your looking at a dasher, short range is 6ppc. Imo there are no other options.

If your shortrange will include score, do not discount the 30br. In my opinon, must easier to shoot than 6ppc.
