I wish I could FIND a Lee Collet die for the 284 Shehane! Or for a 30BR. Been trying to figure out if I can take a stock 308 collet die and make a 30BR out of it, but I don't think so.

The Best 30BR F/L Bushing Die is found right here: http://harrellsprec.com/index.php/products/full-length-die It's a bargain too. $75 shipped!

Ream while the neck is held in a custom neck sizing die. Then expand & neck turn. This vintage Lee tool reamed the neck.

Hey 243WINXB, I used to use a Lee "Hammer" die set as a kid and for quite some time after, as they worked VERY WELL INDEED! I never saw one like yours, with a reamer etc... I bet it works GREAT! Those dies were the genius of simplicity itself! I got my first one when I was 16 I believe. It was for a 6mmRem. It worked great. I got another for a .270Win and yet another for a .300 Win Mag! Believe it or not, I used the .270 so much the "bullet-seater" (that looks like a smokers pipe) broke off at the stem. It was only a couple of years ago that I finally gave them away! The price on the 6MM Rem. was $9.97 and was still on the red covered box! As a matter of fact, I still use the "dipper" to put powder in the loading pan! I "know it so well" that it is more than a few times in a loading session that it get it right on the money, on the first "dump"! That pic you showed just brought back a flood of great memories! Thanks 243!! Thanks!

I use an expander to move the donut from the inside to the outside of the neck, then neck-turn to remove it. By the time the donut appears, the neck can use a cleanup anyway. Be sure to turn a bit into the shoulder so the donut takes longer to form.

+1

Call them and see if they will make you a custom collet det which includes a seater. Total cost for my 30BR set was well under $100

Sorry; didn't realize the thread was so old...

Contact Lee Precision ................ They will make a custom collet die for about $65.00 I made a 6.5X47L collet die using their 6.5X55 Swede collet die as the donor. If you have a lathe its pretty easy. The collet dies come in three body sizes (correct me if I'm wrong) for all calibers. If your cartridges length falls into one of the three parameters you MIGHT be able to make a "custom".
