General consensus on 6.5X47 Lapua primers

Going to start on load development on my new 6.5X47 build. I have been using the Federal Match primers in all of my rifles for years, after reading thru many threads on here seems that over 50% are using CCI 450 mag. primers.

I want to start with one primer and don't want to switch in midstream, seems after study that the 450 ignites the charge better than say a 205 GMM because of the smaller flash hole, and should anything be done with the flash hole in Lapua 6.5X47 brass? Or should it be left alone?

This build I started in July and just took delivery a few days ago. So I am chomping at the bit to get out there and dial this rig in before the matches start.

Thanks,
Frank

I have been getting good results from two 6.5x47Ls with Wolf primers. Very low ES&SD. It is a great round. Very easy to load for.
Enjoy.

Thanks guys for replies, I have a quantity of Federal 205's on hand, but I will save. Looks like 450's are the go to primer. Will be priming and loading this weekend. :)
I have been writing down notes on powders and bullets for months now from the site, and I will be starting with Lapua and Hornady A-Max bullets in 123 weight, I also have some Cautericho 128's and Berger 130's for ranges over 600 yards. And to Erik, thanks many times over as I have read your posts with great interest while waiting on my build.

I switched to the russian primers 3yrs ago and now use nothing else, fig if they good enuff for Mr tubbs then they should be good enuff for me

I've used 3 different CCI's the military, 400's and the BR4. I could not see any measurable difference between them in my rifle

i tryed the fed ,205, cci 450 and the BR4 and found that the BR4 were best for me.

they have tough cups and plenty of punch to ignight h4350.
