Gearbuggy Scope Stands

I would like to take a minute and give y’all an update on Gearbuggy Scope Stands. After Wayne (the founder of gearbuggy) passed away in 2021 his nephew tried to keep it going but he had other interests that kept him from devoting much time into it.

As of this week I will be taking over Gearbuggy. I have worked as a machinist for 30+ years and the last 9 years I work at the shop Wayne and his brother owned together.

I’m currently trying to go through stock Wayne had left over. Ordering hardware and making some parts that are missing. I have an order for one already that I’m trying to ship next week.

I’m trying to put together a Facebook page and would appreciate any pictures of your Scope stands that I could post.

I own an original and these are excellent products.

Will the parts be interchangeable? The head on mine holds the scope away from the main rod about 7 or 8”. It creates a top heavy condition when I am spotting while standing up. It hasn’t tipped over yet but I think it wouldn’t take too much and we get some hellacious winds out here in the desert.

Yes everything will be exactly the same. Gearbuggy has 3 different length spindles and by the looks of your picture you have the longest one. I do have all 3 lengths in stock.

That is fantastic to hear and best of luck
Wayne’s loss was large and his stands are outstanding
Ok if I post this over at National Match Forum to spread the word?
I’d love to see a stop collar for the bottom so I can repeat my prone spotting scope height

Great to hear. I'm local to you and I remember when Wayne gave me my stand. He was 100x happier than I was and gave me a little American flag that I still have in my range bag.

Yes please do share to any forum you would like to. I do plan on making some of the stop collars. It’s just going to take some time to figure out what I have and what I need to make

Checking in as friends are asking how to contact you beside this forum. Any update on a contact method? Thanks

Wow, I've long wondered what had happened to the Gear Buggy website, and figured the owner had simply thrown in the towel. That's so sad to learn that he passed away. I had no idea. I spoke to him on the phone when I got into High Power and ordered one in 2017, and he was very friendly and helpful. Anyone who stamps their personal cell number onto their product is a stand-up guy, and the Super Spotter scope stand proved to be one of the best purchases I've made. It was and remains leaps and bounds above the competition, and is definitely one of those buy once, cry once purchases. As sad as it is to hear the owner passed away, it's good to learn these are being made again.

I happened to search "Gear Buggy" this week and this post came up, so I just joined the forum to chime in. I do have a few pics from when I first received mine, along with a couple of "action" shots. I've wanted to recommend these many times, but they've been gone from the internet, so I've been unable. Do you, or will you have a webpage? I'm not on FB or the Instatoks and don't intend to be.

502-930-4324- Gearbuggy- Troy is the new owner. He’s made me a bench mounted Gearbuggy spotting scope stand. I’m waiting for it to come in.

Thanks for sharing your pictures. Wayne passed January 2021. I still work at the machine shop him and his brother owned. I’m trying to bring back the original website but GoDaddy is being a little difficult.
