Garmin XERO C-1 problem

I am having an issue with my Garmin and wondering if anyone has had a similar issue. I have some 75 grain Vmax loads for my 6BR and only getting a muzzle velocity of 2995 fps. That’s with a load of 32 grains of 2208 (Varget). I’ve tried doing the factory reset and still no luck. This load should be in the vicinity of 3200 fps.
So has anyone else had this issue. Looks like it might be going back to the retailer!

You trust your scale but you don't trust a doppler device. If it reads exact same thing every time, could be a malfunction but if it's reading variation, then it appears to be working. You tried shooting anything else? Quickload predicts 3019 fps, even though the information for the V-max doesn't have a measurement for boattail, so it might be off.

If your Garmin is showing just a slight up and down variation in the 2995 (average) your getting, then I would say the load is correct. You are just thinking it should be higher, but your rifle is only doing what it shows. Just my thought anyway. Be interesting on what you finally find.

If you “know” how fast it’s going, what is the chronograph for?
I suspect the chrono is correct.

Ok, thanks for the advice, you’ve made some good points. The loads were measured with a Chargemaster Link and the ES and SD have both been in low single figures so the Garmin is at least consistent. I’ll do some further testing and see where we end up.

Check to see if you have selected centerfire rifle as the basis for your detection. Sounds like you are on handgun, as there is a limit to what each selection will read to.
