Garmin Firmware Update

My updated Xero has a glich. When inputting notes on a new shooting session ALL your previous sessions will have your older notes replaced by the new notes.

Called Garmin about it last week, they are aware of the problem but no solution as of yet.

For some reason my app on my phone won’t let me look at each session to open it up. When I select each session it just takes me back to my phone screen saver. Probably a phone problem?

I download every session as soon as I get home. I analyze and manipulate it in Excel, then store the file on my computer for later reference.

My problem was a software update on my I-phone. New installation last nigh while it was plugged in, now the Garmin app is working as it should FYI.

My Garmin & the app seems to be working ok now, I was updating the notes on my different shooting sessions and it wasn't auto deleting the old ones

Since we're on the subject of the Garmin Xero, I noticed yesterday afternoon when I shot that i didn't get a kinetic energy reading on some groups. Now, this is not data I use, but it has me curious if I have an underlying problem that I haven't noticed yet?

Did you input bullet weight for those groups ?

Update on my situation. I looked back through the groups and apparently, Garmin doesn’t recognize the Aeromatch bullet profile. The Berger and SMK’s show all information, just not the Hornady Aeromatch.

BTW I believe the Xero C2 uses the wrong formula for calculating standard deviation. It is using the formula for the population. In other words it assumes that the shots you fire represent every single shot we care about. But instead, we know that the shots are just a SAMPLE of what we are trying to determine. The correct function in Excel is STDEV.S. Garmin is using the formula for population data - its function in Excel is STDEV.P

I just got a notification of another update yesterday. It restarted but I was done shooting so I did not try it. Anyone else get one?

I updated to this today but after shooting completed so it will be Tuesday before I get a chance to try it. Lots of interesting updates but they don't say whether they apply to both C1/C2 or not. Hopefully if an update only applies to one version of unit they will call it out. -- Jeff
