Gain Twist Question 22lr

Anyone tried a gain twist barrel on a 22rimfire? I’m thinking about ordering one

People on other forums, report good results with them in bench rest competion.
Gain twist has been around since the time of the american civil war so its nothing all that new.

I have an 8 groove, LH twist, taper bore, gain twist Bartlien RF barrel, but have never shot it. I guess that I need too.

That’s in CFBR. The overwhelming majority of RFBR barrels are button rifled an as such no gain twists.
Nobody uses them in RF…..that’s why the best barrels are taper lapped.

Mine is 16.5-16. Most RF BR barrels are 16 twist. Are you going to use heavier bullets or ammo?

I’ve seen 13 twist do well at 300 yards.
