G41 firing pin hole chipping

Started out with small chips and now at about 5k rounds is a full hemisphere around firing pin about 1/2 the size of the primer.
No problem except once a chip jammed a round by wedging beside the cartridge in the chamber.
Sent to Glock and Warranty guys nicely say "too bad, caused by ammo".
How is it possible with 40 years of shooting/reloading to have this happen for the first time?
Normal IDPA loads with WSF powder at 850 fps with a 200 gr TMJRN. Never had another Glock or 1911 do this.
No gas cutting, mild loads.
Too old to lie to them and say that I only used factory ammo...seems crappy of them to use that as an out.
Glock will not replace and will not recommend having it rebushed/fixed.
Any metallurgy people out there with some advice/ideas??
The G41 shoots fine otherwise...
I won the Most Accurate award at VA State IDPA match last month with it. Surprised lots of 1911 shooters. LOL

How is this done on a Glock?

gunsandgunsmithing-
Mike,
Couldn't tell ya, as I do not shoot "Combat Tupperware"........for a reason!
Shouldn't be any different than bushing any other breech face w/ the exception of needing 6" length tooling!

OR
purchase a new slide for your "Combat Tupperware"!

Yep, all my Glocks have had a rectangular firing pin hole too...until this one chipped out to round. If it was a casting I might expect a defect,or might it be milled stock and over hardened maybe?

Glock relents and agrees to exchange slide.
"Usually caused by gas cutting" gives them
an out.
All's well that ends well.

Great! Glad it worked out. I've never seen a 45acp pierce a primer, but I guess it's possible. I'm betting they knew that but were hoping to not have to warrant it for you. They make a good product but I've heard several complaints about their reluctance to stand behind their stuff, over the years.
