G1/G7 Hornady 225 ELDM

Hey fellas, reading off the Hornady website the Mach 1.75 G1/G7 BC should be used for ballistic solutions.

Has anyone tried those numbers?

If so, are BC values accurate?

I have had a few issues with the advertised BC on the 225s. I try to get all my "starting" BCs from Litz's Boook and then go from there.

The AB program says that it's a G1 .753 and a G7 of .386.

The AB numbers are generally accurate for the AB Program, and I think they are averaged/calculated based on results at 1000 yards.

I think Hornady is publishing their BC based on an 800 yard average, but you can also get their calculator and do a banded BC/custom model on their free software that some guys really like.

I think either one is going to be fairly accurate for most purposes.

I've also had great success with the AB Custom Drag curves out to past a mile, and that makes me a huge huge fan.
