Yep, you heard it right. The excellent PF100ED that I reported on is no more.
Our Moderator and I were discussing the lack of availability and both wondered why. So I made a phone call to Pentax USA and was told it had been discontinued. I wasn't given a reason per se, but it could have to do with one of the following factors. Size, it is a big scope and requires a big tripod, cost to produce 100mm glass could also be a factor, perhaps they just weren't selling enough of them and in todays economy are making cuts to thier product line. Who knows, but all I can say is anyone contemplating getting one will have to Google them and might just get lucky from some online retailer. The usual places I might add don't have any, so good luck in your search.
Used prices on these babies just may go through the roof, so mine just may be like investing in the gold market!
