Anyone compared a Celestron Regal 100mm to other high end scopes for 600y BR?

My Pentax 100mm spotter was a victim of an auto rear ender recently but I have a few different Pentax eye pieces which will fit Celestrons. Since the big Pentax is no longer available, I was wondering about the Celestron 100mm ED. Has anyone actually compared a Celestron 100mm ED to the bigger name scopes for spotting bullet holes at 600y? I know nothing will do it in this heat, but when things cool down, my Pentax could spot holes in good conditions, not sure how the latest Celestron will go.
BTW, the weight and size of these big scopes is no problem as they only get carried from car to bench.

I had a opportunity to play with the Regal 100 at a show when it was first introduced and I was amazed by the brightness and color that it gave for being a $800 scope. Now I did not get to look at it outdoors or even in natural light so this opinion may be biased, but I felt that in the conditions I was looking through the scope that it was close to equal to the Pentax 100 and brighter then the more expensive Vortex Razor 85HD. Now it does not stack up against, or even come into the same ballpark, as a true high end scope such as the excellent Swarovski ATX-95, but for under a grand that Regal 100 is pretty nice.
