FX120 Auto Trickler calibration question

Layne Zuelke

FEGA Master Engraver
So I received and set up my new FX120i with auto Trickler. I stuck the cup stop/register to the pan and got started testing. Everything ran great. Then I realized I hadn’t recalibrated after unpacking.
So my question is this. Do I need to remove the cup stop from the pan before I calibrate or can I leave it stuck to the pan. I’ve seen a video where a fellow calibrated with a small cup centering device on the pan. But the literature says to make sure the pan is clear.
Anyone have experience with this?

Yup, you can leave that stuff on while calibrating.

Also, if you set a 50g weight on it and it reads 50g, you're good to go; you don't need to calibrate.

Their comment should be meant to mean that the pan should be clear of dirt and powder residue that might float on and off the pan and affect the calibration by coming off accidentally after you zero.

So, something like the cup stop that you placed securely doesn’t affect the typical calibration of null and gain.

The scale has a limit for total weight, but that printed part doesn’t weigh much compared to the 120 gram limit. You can calibrate with or without that cup stop and you will be fine.

I also recommend you calibrate the trickler to deliver 1/2 grain per second. This is in the trickler manual, and it REALLY helps tp speed up the trickler process.
