FX-120I

I got the same deal JVON did, FX300i. I bought a 200 gram check weight. Sometimes I leave the scale on for three weeks, come back and put the check weight on and it reads 199.99 grams. This scale is worth the $400 I paid for it and then some. I've had it since August/September time from and it hasn't skipped a beat.

got my new FX120i in last night this thing is built like a brick beats the hell out of my gempro i plug it in and weigh a few things without calibrating and thing works great its fast and returns back to zero without all the guessing and switching like the gempro all i can say is this thing is awesome and thanks to the guys for bringing this old post back up so i could get this thing for 400 through canada thanks again

Just placed an order for one via Cambridge website. Is an invoice generated during business hours to get the option to pay? How long did it take to get the scale at your door? I was told 1-2 weeks from a reply from Cambridge.

Does it come with a calibration weight(s)? If not, what are you guys using?

It took me about 10 days if I remember correctly.. It does NOT come with weights>>>however, Cambridge sells them... I got the 50gram one.. Call them and they will send it out to you.. I believe it was about 20bucks..

After speaking with the salesman and letting him know what the scale was for and what weight(s) I would be weighing, HE suggested it.. He was correct..

The guy suggested a 100 gram check weight for my FX-120I, but I have a 50 gram weight that I can use. While I'm in here, it is just a great scale, well worth my $400.00, I would pay more if I ever have to replace this scale. This scale has made my RCBS Chargemaster just a powder dispenser just to get me close.

the FX 120I is the best money i ever spent on reloading equipment.

i spent the extra to get a different wind break.

I couldn't deal with having the supplied wind break on my FX120i, so just left it off. Do get a bit of drifting when it's windy outdoors (this old house was built in 1909), but I can live with that.

My first digital scale was an early version of Dillon's Determinator, followed by a DI MX123, which I had good luck with. But the FX120i is practically an order of magnitude better balance than either of the others. Seriously doubt I'll ever regret this purchase.

I have been interested in this Scale, Have you guys seen improvement on paper? I get that it is better all the way around as far as faster more accurate reading but can you see the difference in your results?

I have not shot hundreds of groups on paper to quantify that I have had an improvement on paper. I do believe that I have improved my groups a little but no documented proof (I don't want to waste my barrel).

What I have developed is 100% confidence in the scale and hence my loads since buying this scale. I had a Gempro 250 and still have a VIC 123. Quite a few times I ended up dumping cases or having to reweigh dozens of cases, bullets, or loads because of drifting - not with the FX120I.

There are a few things I have bought and do not regret - Kowa spotting scope, Nightforce scopes, Masterclass stocks, and this scale. I just wish I had bought mine sooner.

I think the FX-120I is a great scale as well. Really appreciate the forum members for their sharing attributes and knowledge. I use my check weights from my chargemaster and didn't need to buy any others. They both weigh 771.62 gr = 50 gram. Just a thought if you have the chargemaster too.

+1

I missed it the first time around so thanks for the heads up on this scale. seems like a great price for more confidence.

The Gempro I am using now is great except it seems especially prone to interference from my kid's WiiU. If that thing is turned on the red backlight never turns off and it bounces around all over the place, turn it off and it settles at 0 again. I wonder if all the wireless devices affect its performance also?

Got my invoice for the FX-120i and a 50g weight. Paid via paypal and the total calculated exchange came to $425 for scale, weight and shipping. Other vendors can't even come close to Cambridge! Can't wait to get it!

I am a gempro user that really had no troubles with it. Kept it on 24-7 and it worked. It did drift, but not often. My big thing was the register time when each kernel or two dropped. Loading for a double 1k match became an entire afternoon chore! I hated throwing charges and hope this FX-120i will make things pleasurable again!

Anyone see any improvement on paper at 1k going from a gempro to this fx?

I have not seen any difference on paper. I bought mine because my GemPro was not "acting well" and I had to work at getting the charges weighed... I bought the FX-120I NOT because I did not like the GemPro, but because I felt it was maybe "on the way out".. Having said that, my loading time has significantly decreased and no "frustration" with loading now... That has to count for something!!

Benjamin,
What discipline(s) do you usually shoot?

I had my GemPro for maybe 4 seasons and never had anything major with it. Definitely needed to be on 24-7 to have stabilized results. I would need to re-tare the scale at least once or twice per reloading session...preloading for a single or double 1k BR match. The wait game between kernel drops that drove me nuts, lol.

I did notice a difference on paper going from a tuned Ohaus to the gem pro...

Hey Ridgeway, I shoot F-Open at 300, 600 and 1000 yards... I did notice more consistent paper results going from a 10 / 10 Ohaus beam scale to the GemPro>>>>But no "paper differences" from the GemPro to the FX 120I..

Mine arrived today. Pretty much just unboxed it and set it where I plan on using it. Turned it on and weighed a couple bullets...the reading is pretty much instantaneous! It has some weight to it...seems extremely solid.

I plan on boring a hole for the Omega trickler tube and leave the other side open to access the powder pan.

Anyone make a hinged access door or are you leaving one side open(closed other 3 sides) while in use?
