Ftr rifle stock

I’m thinking about getting into ftr shooting. My question is can an ftr rifle stock have a RAD recoil system?

As XTR noted, the RAD system is legal. However, you have to make weight (8.25 kg/18.18 lb) with whatever stock system you choose. The more weight that goes into a stock setup, the less weight can be put toward action/barrel/scope/rings/bipod. It's worth the effort to obtain as accurate weights as possible prior to assembling components for a build or purchasing a complete rifle to be certain that it will make weight. Attempting to make weight after the fact with a rifle that is too heavy can sometimes be nightmarish and/or expensive if the amount of weight that has to be shed is significant.

The best FTR stocks I have found are Kelbly KTS and Kelbly 1Ms. I had a third on order, but they would not honour it, so I missed out. Been hunting for a second hand one, but they are thin on the ground over here in Aus.

My rifle
McMillan XIT stock with RAD
Krieger heavy varmint barrel 31”
Stiller Predator action
Nightforce Competition scope
Nightforce rings
Duplin bipod or Joypod both work.

Know your weights!

This rifle is currently listed in the classifieds as I decided to turn my attention to bench rest and will not be shooting FTR. The RAD works great. I was shooting 200 20x bullets with this without having my shoulder beat up. You can shoot all day long in this setup.

It is not a heavy device.
Nice looking rifle. Thanks
