Front sight double vision

Hi! New to the forum. I am curious what you guys see when looking at your front sight post? I made a quick mock up of what I see when I have both eyes open. I have always wondered if it is what others see as well.

In this example, both eyes are open and I am using my right eye to look down the sights. I can see a ghost view of the left side of the gun when concentrating on the front site.

So....am I normal?

Close your left eye. If the ghost goes away, you may have a master left eye.

Most people that are right handed have a master right eye. But, it is not uncommon to have the opposite eye dominant

Yep, KMART has the principal correct.
At this moment, turn toward the door to the room you're in and extend your arm full length. With both eyes open, point your index finger at the door knob and the close your right eye. If the door knob moves out from under your finger you are right eye dominant. If it doesn't move, you are left eye dominant.

Yes, it goes away when I close my left eye, since thats where the ghost is coming from. However, with both eyes open, if i use my left eye on the sights, I see the same thing, but on the opposite side (right side of the gun is ghosted).

Perhaps I am eye ambidextrous?

Move the pistol to your left hand and look with both eyes open. If the ghost is now on the right side you might have ambidextrous sight. It does happen. You may have to shoot with one eye closed.

I hate to say it, but yup, you are normal. Two eyes located on two sides of your head, will see the pistoll from two different angles.

Most shooters learn to just ignore one image... others wear a patch... but there is nothing wrong with you.
