Front Sight Base on Sako L 579

I have a Sako L-579 in to be threaded for Suppressor. The front sight base has no screws to be found. Does anyone know if Sako dove tailed any of the sight bases or are they sweated on? Old Sako is out of business and new Sako belongs to the Berretta Group and they don't have a clue.

After milling off sight and turning the silver solder off the metal was hard as hell where the sight had been.

Nat,
As you've witnessed/experienced, when a silver braze job is done correctly, parent material is raised a few thousandths in the capillary action & changes temper slightly.

The only sweated on sight I've removed, that is what I found.
